About the Masterclass
This course can only be taken after completion of Characters 1 - Foundation
For those that would like to take their character work to the next level, we will be running this advanced Characters 2 - Develop Your Playbook in January 2025.
During these 3 x online group sessions with Elaine, you will each identify and refine your unique set of characters and perfect them ahead of cutting your Character Demo.
It’s a significant piece of work but so much fun!
Masterclass Overview
Session 1: Each actor comes prepared to perform 3-4 character voices which should vary in voice placement, attitude, style, tempo, physicality and purpose.
Session 2: Actors prepare and perform 3-4 characters that exude truth, believability, intention, and emotional depth.
Session 3: Original content creations begin as each student comes prepared with 2-3 short scenes they wrote that showcase their uniquely different and specific characters.
Your Trainer
Elaine A. Clark
Elaine teaches Acting for Video Games at BRAVA. She is based in San Francisco and has spent nearly 40 years as an actor, director, coach, engineer, producer and casting director. She has written numerous industry books and developed a number of apps.
Elaine has voiced hundreds of commercials, narrations and toys, directed and/or performed in close to 100 video games and a couple of Anime series (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Saikano); looped several movies, including Super 8, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Master and Titan A.E.; and recorded a dozen or so audiobooks featuring her voice, book authors and celebrities.
You can see Elaine in films from time to time, including her performance as the futuristic game show host in the breakout movie, Sorry to Bother You.

Following the completion of Characters 1 & 2, students can then move on to cut their Character's Demo with Elaine.
