About the Masterclass
The best actors have a knack for getting into the details of their roles quickly. Aimed at advanced actors and those already making a living at voice acting, this intensive one day session will explore true, deep character creation and development - the kind that separates great from good; that moves someone from simply being cast, to being cast as a main role.
Randall will whet your appetite for the numerous possibilities that can be mined for character VO work. We will use video game scripts for the depth they possess and require, but the learnings will be applicable across all genres. This is a vital experience for commercial work, narration, animation and radio drama.
This is a hands-on session, so please come prepared to work hard. Participants will come away from the session realising how much work there is to be done in Character VO, how constant the effort is, but how rewarding the results.

Randall Ryan
Randall’s journey into voice casting and directing was an unusual one. A musician from the age of five and a touring songwriter/performer for 15 years, he stopped touring to co-found InternetSound (later HamsterBall) in 1995. Quite by accident, Randall found he had a knack for directing talent, and soon voice-over became a larger and larger part of HamsterBall’s mix.

The work that excites him the most are the story-driven narratives where the actors and he get to explore and create deep characters and complex worlds.

Randall’s recent casting and directing video game credits include Chivalry 2, Hearthstone, Cobra Kai: Dojos Rising, Lord of the Rings Online, World of Tanks, Cosmonious High, Dungeons & Dragons Online, Vacation Simulator, and GI Joe: Operation Blackout. Legacy titles include World of Warcraft, Deer Hunter, Transformers, Barbie, Disney Princess, and Dora the Explorer.
